How To Play
Movement
Squadradius is a turn-based strategy game. When it is your turn, your gluttons can initially move one tile in any direction (except diagonal). Move onto a space with an opponent's glutton to kill them.
Meat
Every few turns the Meater will spit meat onto random empty tiles. Jump on tiles containing Meat to obtain one of many different powers. The Meat will be added to the inventory of the glutton that jumped on it. You can use any amount of Meat at any time during your turn to beat your opponent. To use Meat, right-click a glowing glutton. Then click on the Meat power you wish to use.
Tile Height
At some point in the game, certain Meat powers might cause the arena landscape to change. Tiles will be raised or lowered. You can easily jump down to a lower tile, or walk up a step that is slightly higher than your piece, but you can not climb up tiles that are higher than a single step. These tiles will be unreachable to you (without the help of Meat powers).
Area of Effect
Some Meat Powers target a specific area of the arena surrounding the glutton using it: Column, Row, and Radius.
Meat Powers
Multiply
Generates a new glutton in the arena. This new glutton will have no powers of its own, but by adding pieces, you gain more coverage and control of the battle arena and limit your opponent's movement. You must move your multiplying glutton to generate a new one. You can also cancel your multiplying if you change your mind by selecting the temporary "Cancel Multiply" power.
Move Diagonal
This glutton can now also move on a diagonal. Can be used as a way to move more quickly, slip between diagonal walls or over diagonal pits, or can be used to take an opponent by surprise and attack them.
Jump Proof
Your glutton is shielded from jump attacks. You can easily and safely chase down an opponent. Can also be used as a road block. You're still vulnerable to power attacks.
Climb Tile
Able to move to a tile no matter how high it is. Great for scaling walls, reaching platforms, or getting out of pits. Eliminates the need for steps. Does not affect tile elevation and will leave others trapped.
Wall (Row, Column, Plateau)
Raises all the tiles in a Row, Column, or Radius (Plateau is just Wall Radius) to the maximum level. Can be used to reach higher platforms or to separate the top area from the bottom area and gain more control. Also, a good technique to keep attackers at bay.
Trench (Row, Column)
Lowers all the tiles in a Row or Column to the lowest level. Can be used to trap gluttons in a trench or to separate the left area from the right area and gain more control. Also, a good technique to keep attackers at bay.
Moat
Raises your glutton up on a pedestal while lowering all the surrounding tiles. Great defense when being approached on multiple sides or as a way to leave your opponents trapped in a sunken pit below.
Raise Tile
Raise your glutton's tile by 1 level. By raising a tile high enough, you can climb out of holes or step onto higher platforms. You can also raise your tile high enough to help avoid an attacking opponent.
Lower Tile
Lower your glutton's tile by 1 level. You can lower a tile to form strategically placed stepping stones. If you have pieces trapped in a pit, a higher up piece can lower tiles to carve out steps. Other pieces can then move to higher platforms.
Acid (Row, Column, Radius)
Dissolves all opponent gluttons in the area of effect. This not only completely destroys their glutton, but also disfigures the arena landscape by dissolving the tile, leaving it uninhabitable.
Kamikaze (Row, Column, Radius)
Self destruction of all gluttons in the area of effect. Helpful if you have infiltrated a cluster of your opponents pieces or if you find yourself about to fall victim to an opponents attack.
Siphon (Row, Column, Radius)
The glutton will steal all the Meat powers from your opponents in the area of effect. Great way to quickly obtain more powers and create a highly skilled piece, while leaving your opponent with no powers.
Grow Quadradius
Extends the effective range of all row, column, and radial type powers. Row and column powers are widened, while radial powers extend farther outward. Each time it's used, the Quadradius is extended even farther.
